Alabama, Mississippi we hear you and we are coming to do our share.
A convoy of 20 Penske Trucks will head to tornado stricken Alabama and Mississippi with bottled water, non perishable items, food items, blankets, new clothes, gym shoes, diapers and other utensils that are needed in the second worst natural disaster since Katrina.
You can help Texas and we are counting on you.
Operation Weathering The Storm is a community response to the tragic situation in Alabama and Mississippi said Ms. Rader Community Relations of OSPFUND.ORG, the group spearheading the aid effort, we need to show Alabama and Mississippi that we care, that they are not alone and that Texans are doing their part to ease the pain and suffering caused by this unfortunate tragedy.
We have volunteers that will man the trucks at various locations throughout Texas and the Dallas Metroplex, we will invite celebrities and sports personalities to join us driving those trucks, we will reach out to the African American Community, to the Latino community and to all of Texas, that the time to help is now.
The number of organizations joining this effort is growing and we will fill every truck and head to Alabama and Mississippi, Accion America will also join our efforts. A truck full of items is already en route from Brownsville, Texas and we are going full steam ahead.
A bank account has will be established so people may contribute to this account that will be directed to the victims of Alabama and Mississippi.
We have 20 trucks ready to head south all we need is volunteers to man and drive the trucks, volunteers to roll up their sleeves and do some hard labor and people in Texas to support this most important effort.
A Press Conference will be held TODAY at 4pm at Southwest Center Mall, all 20 Trucks and many volunteers will be at the Press Conference. Main Entrance look for the BIG YELLOW TRUCKS.
